HUMAN INSTRUMENT is a 45-minute immersive performance exploring the richness of human voices in dialogue with liquid matter. Four singers surround the audience with an original a cappella composition that, with minimal live and digital manipulation, creates intricate, cathedral-like patterns.
Developed in the Satosphere, the project integrates macro photography, live performance, and technology. A custom system by Isabella Salas and Patrick Trudeau uses a 4K camera to capture audio inputs and transform them into visual patterns projected onto the dome.
At the heart of the installation, a macro lens focuses on a petri dish filled with liquid. And the vibration of the singers voices blends the physical and virtual worlds. As they sing, their voices vibrate through the water, creating unique artistic direction that visually represent each performer’s voice.
